Papers of Lauriston S. Taylor, ca. 1928-ca. 1984 (inclusive).

Contains working documents, drafts, communications, and personal correspondence and notes of Taylor as member, secretary, and chairman of the ICRU from 1928 to ca. 1969. Also contains files relating to International Congresses of Radiology and copies of ICRU's published reports. NCRP materials date mostly from 1950s to 1980s and include correspondence of the Executive Committee, working documents, drafts of reports, agendas, and minutes of meetings relating to studies dealing with radiation protection standards. Other records include financial information, membership lists, constitution and bylaws. Also included are 20 videotape recordings of interviews by Taylor with scientists active in the field of ionizing radiation protection and measurements prior to 1942, and documents pertaining to hearings and testimonies before various governmental bodies. ICRP materials include correspondence, documents, and working papers relating mostly to meetings held worldwide from the 1960s to 1980s. Files documenting the 1959 meeting in Munich are missing. Additional materials include mimeograph papers used during Tripartite Conferences, 1949-1953; Federation Radiation Council working papers, minutes, and correspondence, 1959-1970; about 300 glass slides, 1925-1963, of early X-ray and lab equipment; and 48 boxes of background material and publications.

Taylor (Pennsylvania, D.Sc. 1960), American physicist, served on the International Commission on Radiological Units (ICRU), International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), and National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP).
